Terms of Service

1. The Service

OpenTaskForce ("we," "us") provides public relations services for businesses: professional press release writing, distribution and pitching to media outlets, and related reputation services (the "Service"). Campaigns are purchased as one-time, flat-price engagements between $20 and $500 USD. We are not a law firm, marketing agency of record, or investment adviser, and nothing in the Service constitutes legal or financial advice.

2. Ordering and Payment

You select your campaign amount at checkout. Payment is processed by third-party payment processors (Stripe and PayPal); we do not receive or store your full card details. Your campaign price is flat: there are no subscriptions, recurring charges, or additional fees unless you purchase a new campaign.

3. Placement Guarantee and Refunds

Every campaign carries our money-back placement guarantee: if we are unable to secure placement of your story, you will receive a full refund of the campaign price. "Placement" means publication of your press release or story on one or more third-party media websites, including publication via syndication and press or business sections of media outlets. The guarantee does not cover a specific outlet, a specific number of placements beyond the tier description, editorial (journalist-written) coverage, search-engine rankings, traffic, sales, or any particular business outcome. 4. Your Responsibilities

You represent and warrant that all information you provide about your business is accurate and not misleading; that you have the rights to any names, logos, images, quotes, and materials you supply; and that your story does not violate any law or third-party right. We may decline or refund any campaign whose content we determine, in our discretion, to be unlawful, deceptive, defamatory, or otherwise unsuitable for distribution.

5. Media Independence

Media outlets are independent third parties. Placements obtained through distribution networks appear in the press-release or business sections of outlet websites and are not endorsements by, or editorial coverage from, those outlets. We do not control, and do not guarantee, how long any outlet keeps content online.

6. Intellectual Property

Upon full payment, you own the press release we write for your campaign and may reuse it freely. We retain the right to reference non-confidential campaign results (e.g., placement counts) in our own marketing unless you ask us in writing not to. The OpenTaskForce name, logo, and website content are our property.

7. Disclaimers

Except for the placement guarantee in Section 3, the Service is provided "as is" and we disclaim all other warranties, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. PR outcomes depend on factors outside our control.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid for the campaign giving rise to the claim, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or lost profits.

9. Indemnification

You will defend and hold us harmless from claims arising out of the materials and information you supply, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of law or third-party rights.

10. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New York, and you consent to their jurisdiction. You waive any right to participate in a class action to the extent permitted by law.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time; the version posted at opentaskforce.com/terms.html at the time of your purchase governs that purchase.
